Request for Information and Services
Requests for information to COMPASS generally fall into three categories: general information requests, requests for service, or public records requests.
General Information Requests
A general information request usually includes requests for information that is available for distribution such as reports, brochures, meeting minutes, etc. These requests can be made via email or a phone call to staff.
Do you need assistance in attending a meeting, or need materials in a different language or format than provided? Contact COMPASS at 208/855-2558 or [email protected].
Public Records Requests
A public records request includes, but is not limited to, written documents and electronic files containing information relating to the conduct or administration of the public’s business prepared, owned, used or retained by COMPASS. The public can request in writing to examine or copy these types of public records.
While most records are available to the public, certain records may be withheld from disclosure due to their confidential nature; the exceptions to public record disclosure are described in the Idaho Public Records Act.
To submit a public records request you may either:
Complete an electronic request here OR download a printable form here (pdf format).
Per the Idaho Public Records Act, COMPASS may charge fees to recover actual labor and copying costs if in exceedance of 2 hours or 100 pages. COMPASS will contact the requestor prior to exceeding these thresholds.
Request for Service
COMPASS members and others may request mapping/GIS or modeling services, orthophotography, or bicycle/pedestrian counter services.
COMPASS charges $92/hour for custom maps and analyses for non-members, in addition to $15/map sheet for standard or custom maps. Prices for orthophotography vary and can be found on the orthophotography page.
Many of COMPASS’ maps are available to download for free; COMPASS’ open data site also provides regional data free of charge.
To request custom mapping/GIS or modeling services, email [email protected]. Please include your name and a detailed description of the request in the body of the email. Learn more about bicycle/pedestrian counters and link to a counter request form here.
